Pulse
Lightweight and deployable wherever PHP is available.
Very little setup is required to run Pulse. This lightweight framework is designed to be run on Apache + PHP hosting stacks and take less time to setup than Wordpress. The experience is comparable to other static blog engines such as Jekyll. Extract, write content, and serve.

The site you're currently looking at (kmoverse @ UC Berkeley website) is currently using Pulse.
Instructions
- Retrieve a distribution of Pulse.
- For Apache setups, ensure that RewriteEngine can be turned on.
- Extract the distribution to the appropriate web directory (typically ~/public_html for most hosts).
- Configure your site settings in config.php.
- Start writing Markdown pages within the pages directory.
- Serve the site!
